Guernsey Water is advising cesspit customers of temporary changes to collection schedules over the four-day Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

To maintain service continuity, some collections will be rescheduled automatically. Customers do not need to take any action.

Guernsey Water has completed the replacement of the ageing water main beneath Mill Street and Mansell Street, the first major capital investment project of 2026, and a significant early milestone in the utility’s long‑term plan to renew Guernsey’s essential water infrastructure. The previous main, installed in 1946, had burst twice in 2025, including one incident that flooded a local business, resulting in its prioritisation for renewal.

Guernsey Water have been undertaking a series of short road closures as part of preparation for major sewer works later this year.

Work has begun to repair storm damage to the Millennium Walk, with four different tree surgeons scheduled to carry out five weeks of intensive work to make the route safe again following Storm Goretti.
