80 year old water main to be replaced

2026 will begin with a major infrastructure overhaul for Mill Street and Mansell Street.
Due to start on January 2nd, the two-month programme will see the main replaced with a larger and more durable pipe.

Guernsey Water’s 2024 water quality report has been released, marking another strong year of compliance against 6,000 analyses.  

Water and wastewater bills to rise by around 9% in 2026

Households with a water meter will pay on average £1.79 per day in water and wastewater charges in 2026 - up from £1.65 this year - while those without a meter will pay on average £2.62 a day, up from £2.42.  

 

£130 million water investment to improve resilience

Guernsey Water plans to invest nearly £130 million between now and 2037 to renew and improve critical infrastructure and better protect the island against future water shortages.
