Guernsey Water encourages people to get ready for winter

Guernsey Water is asking customers to take particular care of their pipework, oil tanks and drainage during the winter months, to avoid problems from the harsher weather.

Despite experiencing higher than normal temperatures this autumn, winter is just around the corner and temperatures are likely to start dropping.

Guernsey Water Encourage Winter Care

Guernsey Water is asking customers to take care of their pipework and oil tanks during the winter, to avoid problems with leakage or spills.

An information leaflet has been created by the utility which gives advice on avoiding potential problems when the temperatures start to drop. This includes information on lagging pipework and outside taps, checking oil tanks and catchment pits for leaks, and preventing flooding by turning off internal stop taps if customers are leaving their property for a long period of time.
