Capelles Sewer Lining Project to Take Place Overnight

Guernsey Water will be utilising night-time working in order to carry out sewer lining along the Route des Coutanchez/Route des Capelles.

Work will begin in the Route des Coutanchez, near the College of Further Education, on 7th October before moving to the Route des Capelles on 10th October. All work will be completed by 12th October. Work will take place from 6:30pm until 7:30am in order to minimise inconvenience to traffic.

Existing Raw Water Outfall to be Upgraded at Bulwer Avenue

Guernsey Water will shortly be upgrading the Richmond Corner raw water outfall which will require the use of temporary traffic lights along Bulwer Avenue.

The project, which is part of a phased workstream that has already seen the upgrading of the Marais Stream Pumping Station, will commence on 4th October and is expected to take 6 weeks to complete. However, the traffic management arrangements along Bulwer Avenue should only be in place for the first week of the project.

Nocq Road to be Re-closed for Sewer Lining

Guernsey Water unfortunately requires an additional closure of Nocq Road, St Sampsons, from 20th – 23rd May, in order to make a further attempt at lining the sewer under the road.

As part of Guernsey Water’s ongoing sewer rehabilitation programme, contractors Environmental Techniques have been working in various roads across the Island on sewers which have been targeted as having the potential to fail in the near future.
