Quay Street to Close for Sewer Repair

Guernsey Water will be closing Quay Street, St Peter Port, from 27th May – 4th June in order to carry out repairs to a foul water sewer.

The work will specifically involve repairs to a defective chamber under the pavement outside the former Le Lievre’s building. Pedestrian access will be maintained while the work is carried out.

Sous Les Courtils to Close for Sewer Repair

Guernsey Water will be closing Sous Les Courtils, Vazon from 7 – 11th April in order to carry out repairs to a surface water sewer.

The utility has been carrying out investigations into the sewerage system in this area after the heavy rainfall and high tides of January and February led to some localised flooding. A section of sewer has been identified as a potential cause for some of these problems, and will be repaired as a matter of urgency.

Guernsey Water to Carry Out Sewer Investigations in the Vale

Guernsey Water will be carrying out CCTV investigations into the foul water network in the Les Landes catchment area in the Vale.

The recent heavy rainfall caused some localised flooding issues in the area, and this has prompted Guernsey Water to carry out investigations in order to ascertain whether any improvements could be made to the network.

The work will run from 18th – 28th March and will incorporate weekend working.

Emergency Closure in Rohais due to Sewer Blockage

Guernsey Water is closing the Rohais this evening from 6pm due to a sewer blockage near the junction with Courtil St Jacques.

The work, which is expected to take no more than a few hours, will involve the jetting of the sewer in order to clear it out and allow sewage to flow freely. Failure to clear the sewer could result in sewage flooding at nearby properties.
