South Quay sewer renovation work

Later on this month Guernsey Water will be undertaking rehabilitation work to the public foul sewer that extends along a stretch of the South Quay in St Sampson.

The contracted work, carried out by Environmental Techniques, will take place from Saturday 19 to 24 September.

Mark Walker, capital delivery manager from Guernsey Water said:  “Unfortunately due to the size and length of the sewer it will not be possible to complete the renovation works within normal working hours [8am to 7pm].   Work will therefore need to be continued overnight on either 20 or 21 September.”

Longfrie main sewer network completed

The completed Longfrie area wastewater extension project now offers 103 properties the opportunity to connect to the new sewer.

The project was completed by Guernsey Water and contractor Geotrant at the end of July, with all testing and commissioning successfully carried out.

Properties who can take advantage of the new sewer include the Longfrie Hotel, St Peter’s Food Hall, and States Housing’s Forest School flats.
