Vauvert to be Closed for Wastewater Project

Guernsey Water will be continuing its project to install a new surface water sewer in Vauvert as part of its strategic separation of surface and foul water sewers.

The project, which will commence on 19th July 2014 and will necessitate the closure of the upper part of Vauvert for 6 weeks during the school summer holidays, will be carried out by local contractors Geotrant/Geomarine. This is the third phase of the project – previous phases also took place during the summer holidays in 2011 and 2012.

Le Truchot Project Will Incorporate Night Working and Taxi Rank Move

Guernsey Water's forthcoming project at Le Truchot to alleviate surface water flooding will incorporate 18-hour daily working and the repositioning of the taxi rank.

Starting from 14th January 2014, contractors Geomarine will work from 6am until midnight each day for the first two weeks of the project in order to get the work on and around the roundabout completed as quickly as possible. The decision to extend the working hours was taken after consultation with the Environment Department on the best way to reduce traffic disruption in the area.
