How To Pay
You can pay your bill in a number of different ways:
Direct Debit - Direct Debit is the simplest way to pay your water bill. It saves time, is more convenient and gives you greater control over your money. You are also protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee, which guarantees an immediate money back guarantee from your bank in the event of an error, provides you with advance notice if the date or amount changes, and gives you the right to cancel at any time.
If you wish to pay by Direct Debit (domestic customers only), then you can download an application form here. Alternatively, if you have any queries about paying by Direct Debit, then please contact us.
Cheque - Cheques should be made payable to Guernsey Water. Please write your address, customer number and invoice number on the reverse of your cheque and post it, along with your payment slip to us (see contact us for address details).
Online - You can make your payment using the States of Guernsey 24-hour secure Internet payments service. You will need to enter your individual customer and invoice numbers in order to make a payment. Debit card payments do not incur a charge, but please note that payment by credit card on this service will incur a surcharge of 2%. Please click here to pay your water bill online.
Debit/Credit Card - If you wish to pay your water bill with your debit/credit card, then please contact us by telephone with your card details handy (between 9am - 5pm only). Unfortunately, Guernsey Water are unable to take continuous credit card payments – you will need to contact us each quarter with your card details in order for us to process them.
Sir Charles Frossard House - You can also pay your bill at the Cashier's Desk, Sir Charles Frossard House, La Charroterie, St Peter Port between 9am-4pm, Monday to Friday. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, debit or credit card (an additional 2% is applied for credit cards). Please be aware that payment will only be possible if you have your bill with you.
Guernsey Post - You can pay at all Guernsey Post outlets. Payments can be made by cash, cheque, debit or credit card (an additional charge of 1.8% is applied for credit cards). Please note that payment will only be possible if you have your invoice with you.

Wastewater Quarterly Standing Charge
The figure here represents one quarter’s-worth of the annual standing charge. Income from the standing charge will go towards the fixed costs needed to maintain the wastewater network (e.g. the monitoring of assets, cleaning of pipes etc.) The wastewater charge was introduced on 1st April 2011.
The variable ‘wastewater discharged’ figure is calculated as 90% of the clean water that passes through your water meter.
Water Quarterly Standing Charge
The standing charge that you pay contributes towards Guernsey Water’s fixed costs incurred through: - providing you with a connection to the water supply, and - maintaining the production, delivery and quality of a drinkable water supply network.
Your latest meter reading is noted here against your previous reading. This calculates your water usage.
These numbers allow us to identify you quickly if you contact us. Please have these numbers to hand when contacting us, and include in all correspondence.
Guernsey Water no longer operates a cash desk at its new St Andrew’s facility. Bills can still be paid in person at Frossard House and Guernsey Post Offices.
This barcode is used to scan your bill and identify your details quickly, so please do not mark or alter.
This is the payment information you will see if you DO NOT pay by Direct Debit. The slip must be detached and returned with your payment. Please remember that Guernsey Water no longer operates a cash desk facility, so bills to be paid in person must be taken to either Frossard House or one of the Guernsey Post Offices.
