Number of loads collected

This section details the number of loads collected from your cesspit during the billing period and during which month the collection(s) took place.

Cesspit emptying charges

The cesspit emptying charge that you pay contributes towards the cost of the service provided to empty your cesspit and discharge the contents into the sewer network.

Wastewater Quarterly Standing Charge

The figure here represents one quarter’s-worth of the annual standing charge. Income from the standing charge will go towards the fixed costs needed to maintain the wastewater network (e.g. the monitoring of assets, cleaning of pipes etc.) The wastewater charge was introduced on 1st April 2011.

Wastewater Discharged

The variable ‘wastewater discharged’ figure is calculated as 90% of the clean water that passes through your water meter.

Water Quarterly Standing Charge

The standing charge that you pay contributes towards Guernsey Water’s fixed costs incurred through: - providing you with a connection to the water supply, and - maintaining the production, delivery and quality of a drinkable water supply network.

Statement of Account

This is the payment information you will see if you pay by Direct Debit. If you do not pay by Direct Debit, you will see the payment slip shown below. The information shows the debit/credit brought forward from the last bill, records of your Direct Debit payments (either monthly or quarterly), and your latest bill amount. The Total Amount shows whether you are in debit or credit with your water payments.

Guernsey Water no longer operates a cash desk at its new St Andrew’s facility. Bills can still be paid in person at Frossard House and Guernsey Post Offices.

Wastewater Unmeasured Charge

If you are not on a meter then your variable wastewater charge is calculated on the TRP of your property, in a similar way to your clean water charges.

Water Unmeasured Charge

If you are not on a meter then your water charges will be calculated by your property’s TRP (Tax on Real Property). TRP is set by the Cadastre, so if you have any queries about your figure, please contact them. Guernsey Water does not include TRP data from land and outbuildings.

How To Pay - You can pay your bill in a number of different ways:
 

Direct Debit

Direct Debit is the simplest way to pay your water bill. It saves time, is more convenient and gives you greater control over your money. You are also protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee, which guarantees an immediate money back guarantee from your bank in the event of an error, provides you with advance notice if the date or amount changes, and gives you the right to cancel at any time.

Cheque

Cheques should be made payable to Guernsey Water. Please write your address, customer number and invoice number on the reverse of your cheque and post it, along with your payment slip to us (see contact us for address details).
 

Online

You can make your payment using the States of Guernsey 24-hour secure Internet payments service. You will need to enter your individual customer and invoice numbers in order to make a payment.

Debit/Credit Card

If you wish to pay your water bill with your debit/credit card, then please contact us by telephone with your card details handy (between 9am - 5pm only). Unfortunately, Guernsey Water are unable to take continuous credit card payments - you will need to contact us each quarter with your card details in order for us to process them.
 

Edward T Wheadon House (please note: available by appointment only)

You can also pay your bill at the Cashier's Desk, Level 3, Edward T Wheadon House, Le Truchot, St Peter Port, Monday to Friday. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, debit or credit card. Please be aware that payment will only be possible if you have your bill with you.
 

Guernsey Post 

You can pay at all Guernsey Post outlets. Payments can be made by cash, cheque, debit or credit card. Please note that payment will only be possible if you have your invoice with you.

Please note. Cash payments cannot be accepted at Brickfield House.
